Nen Michel
My name is Nen Michel.
It all started with a great fondness for dancing. As a child I had ballet lessons at school and after school. And after that, like most adolescents, the ballroom dancing. I assisted the teacher and started dance competitions.
During my study I was more into jazz ballet and African dance. And in my free time lots of free dancing.
After my study, I moved with my husband and children to Peru for 4 years, for work.. After that, 7 years to Africa, Burkina Faso. There started my preference for African rhythm, which I recognize in the salsa.
Back in Holland I could develop my passion for dancing in Salsa.
Salsa started to become much more popular at that time.
(I’m having Argentinean Tango lessons with my husband in which I also want to develop myself).
In 1999 I started giving salsa lessons (Cuban/Antillean an LA style) and I was a teacher at several dancing schools (Dos Bailadores in The Hague and Leiden 7 years and Salseros 2 years in Wassenaar).
Since 2008 I started my own company for salsa dancing, AMIGOSSALSA.
The dancing on the rhythm of salsa for young and old, the cheerful and whipping up music, the relaxed atmosphere and the all-round contacts. Each time again, it gives me a kick and inspiration. Something I enjoy intensely!
With love and devotion I teach the basic techniques and the joy of salsa, to everyone that’s interested. There’s no foreknowledge of feeling for dancing required.
Because of my stays in several countries and cultures, it’s easy for me to teach in English, French, Spanish or German. The dancing knows no boundaries!
